Swiss army knife
Plastic Bags – sandwich bags and zip lock bags and bags for wet clothing
Lighter waterproof jacket
Sports cap – light and flexible
Bladder for water not a water bottle
Sport socks no wool socks
Phone pocket at the front – photo opportunity present themselves at every corner
Good hiking pants to avoid rash
Sunblock for your lips at hands ready

Les Houches
Hotel Les Campanules
Arrived in Les Houches with our anticipation high. We stayed in a charming Chalet Hotel In Les Houches that looked over the mountains. The scenery was magnificent! Views of Mont Blanc and Aiguille du Midi. Love love love. Excitement or nerves building.
We got an upgraded room that looked over the mountains because we were staying an extra night. Delicious dinner at a wine bar in Les Houches, a buddha bowl and Dahl! Yum!
Always drinking local wine we started with a Chardonnay and a Viognier
Shopping in Chamonix for the thing we “needed” - spikes, poles, gloves. After visiting the mountain information centre we were told to save our batteries for we when needed rescuing on the mountain. The ladies were so rude.
First dinner with Ritchie and River was at the hotel. The crack was mighty!
