Meet Nicky, your guide
NV—Nicky Vincent is my maiden name, and it is also a nod to the wine term “Non-Vintage,” which is often labelled on Champagne bottles where the wine comes from multiple years rather than a single harvest. In the case of Champagne, this is done to make each release as consistent as possible.
I’ve always been interested in wine, what’s in my glass, and the story.
For me, every bottle of wine tells a story and is always a celebration. Drinking wine consciously and taking a few moments to consider its composition and origin brings a fuller understanding and greater appreciation for it.
In 2019 I started my Graduate Diploma in Oenology at the Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) where my eyes were opened to the beautiful world of wine. In 2021, I successfully completed my degree in Oenology. Since then, I’ve worked several vintages in North Canterbury, and now work with one of Christchurch's leading independent wine retailers building on my knowledge and wine tasting skills daily. Adding to my experience in wine, my husband and I have toured iconic wine regions of Europe and Australia.
Nicky—a wine communicator, winemaker, cellar hand, wine ambassador, wine lover, and wine expert—my obsession continues to expand through the journey with NV Wines.
